  1. Acorn Licence Agreement
  2.  
  3. The software to which this Licence relates incorporates software (the
  4. "Software", as defined below) which is owned (or licensed) by Acorn Computers
  5. Limited. Before using the Software read the Licence provisions printed below.
  6. If you do not agree to the Licence provisions DO NOT USE the Software and
  7. contact Acorn.
  8.  
  9.  1.    Definitions.
  10.     The following expressions have the meanings given here:
  11.  
  12.     "Acorn" means Acorn Computers Limited, being either owner of all
  13.     intellectual property rights in the Software, or having the right to
  14.     grant licenses for the use of the Software.
  15.  
  16.     "RISC OS Computer" means any Computer which utilises any version of
  17.     RISC OS and which is fitted with an ARM Central Processor Unit (CPU).
  18.  
  19.     "Software" means the contents of the file hierarchy 
  20.     supplied with this licence and stored in Acorn's Drawing Office as
  21.     part number 1215,605.

  23. 2.    Licence Grant, Conditions and Restrictions.
  24.     (a) Acorn grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide (subject to export
  25.     controls), non transferrable, royalty free licence to:-
  26.  
  27.     (i)   use the Software on multiple RISC OS Computers located at your
  28.           site
  29.     (ii)  copy the Software to network fileservers so as to support its
  30.           use on RISC OS Computers located at your site
  31.     (iii) take one copy of the Software for backup purposes so as to
  32.           support its use on RISC OS Computers located at your site    
  33.      
  34.     (b)  You must ensure that the copyright, trademark and other protective
  35.       notices contained in the Software are maintained and not altered or
  36.      removed and that all such notices are reproduced and included in
  37.      any copy of the Software.

  39.     (c)  Except as authorised above or expressly permitted by statute you may
  40.      not: copy all or part of the Software; incorporate all (or any part
  41.      of) the Software into other programs developed or used by you;
  42.      reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software; rent,
  43.      lease, gift, loan, sell, distribute or transfer possession of the
  44.      Software in whole or in part.

  46. 3.    Termination
  47.     This licence is effective until terminated. You may terminate the
  48.     licence by destroying the Software (and all copies thereof). This
  49.     licence will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to
  50.     comply with any of its provisions. Upon termination you must destroy
  51.     the Software (and all copies thereof).

  53. 4.    Limited Warranty and Disclaimer
  54.     (a)  The Software is supplied "as is" and Acorn expressly disclaims
  55.          all warranties, express or implied, including (but not limited
  56.          to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular
  57.          purpose, and non-infringement.
  58.  
  59.     (b)  In no circumstances will Acorn be liable for any direct,
  60.          indirect, consequential, or incidental damage (including loss of
  61.          profits, business interruption and loss of data) arising out of
  62.          the use or the inability to use the Software, even if Acorn (or
  63.          any third party which distributes the Software on its behalf)
  64.          has been advised of the possibility of such damage.

  66. 5.    General
  67.     (a)  This licence will be governed by the laws of England.
  68.     (b)  The above terms and conditions supercede any prior agreement,
  69.          oral or written, between you and Acorn relating to the Software.
